More wisdom from Marc and Angel Hack Life....

Good morning meditations from Marc and Angel:

  1. Sometimes you spend time waiting for the ideal path to appear.  But it never does.  Because paths are made by walking, not waiting.
  2. When you are lost in worry, it is easy to mistake your worries for reality, instead of recognizing that they are just thoughts.
  3. Many people make themselves unhappy simply by finding it impossible to accept life just as it is presenting itself right now.
  4. Never force anything.  Do your best, then let it be.  If it’s meant to be, it will be.  Don’t hold yourself down with things that are out of your control.
  5. You cannot control exactly what happens in life, but you can control how you respond to it all.  In your response is your greatest power.
  6. Instead of getting angry, find the lesson.  In place of envy, feel admiration.  In place of worry, take action.  In place of doubt, have faith.

Two questions, from Marc and Angel Hack Life

Keep in mind that these questions have no right or wrong answers…

Because simply asking the right questions IS the answer.

1.  If you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way that you sometimes speak to yourself, how long would you allow this person to be your friend?

2.  If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?

Think long and hard.  And when your answer is NO for too many days in a row, you know it’s time for a change.

I appreciate my pets

Cities, like cats, will reveal themselves at night.  Rupert Brooke

If animals could speak, the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow; but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much.  Mark Twain

Today I am grateful for...rain

No matter how many minutes you spend with a hose in your hand watering your plantings, it never comes close to what Mother Nature can do with a good, soaking shower. Though we have had a bit of rain this Spring, already I noticed the need for a good sprinkle. We  had one last night. This morning the Hosta, clementis and herbs had visibly jumped in size. Our 4 acres are much greener and fresher looking, the green almost velvet in rich color. Our yard needs mowing today...while yesterday is seemed fine. But I think it is going to rain all weekend, so next week will see us mowing and planting. Glad to take part in the energy of the warmer months.

"April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain." - T.S. Eliot, "The Waste Land"

Today I am glad for old friends

There is nothing quite like a good friend. Especially one you have known for years. Your sense of history together, the memories you share, how she gets what you mean because she was there as well...and the fact that you still hang out after so much passed time speaks to your true kinship. If you are lucky, she is non judgemental but gives it to you straight if you ask. I only need one friend of this caliber and I have one.  But I am always excited to meet new folks. They are the icing on the cake.

You can always tell a real friend: when you’ve made a fool of yourself he doesn’t feel you’ve done a permanent job. ~Laurence J. Peter

A bosom friend — an intimate friend, you know — a really kindred spirit to whom I can confide my inmost soul. ~L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today I am glad for forgiveness

"I wondered if that was how forgiveness budded; not with the fanfare of epiphany, but with pain gathering its things, packing up, and slipping away unannounced in the middle of the night."
—Khaled Hosseini, The Kite Runner
"Never confuse your perception of yourself with the mystery that you are really accepted"...The Ragamuffin Gospel
